New Zealand MBBS University
MBBS, the main medical project in New Zealand, is provided by two universities. It is the University of Otago and the University of Auckland. The courses offered by the universities are Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, also known as MBChB
International applicants, including Indian students, must qualified the relevant qualifications for applying for the course.
Learn the admission requirements for MBBS:
- The first year is for pre-medicine students designed for local students, also known as international students holding similar qualifications. Bachelor degrees in sciences such as health sciences and biological sciences are mandatory.
- UMAT must be qualified before applying for MBBS. - Health Science Entrance Examination. Candidate should apply for this exam by the end of June each year. The actual test is conducted in July.
- Another mandatory requirement for obtaining medical qualifications is English proficiency. IELTS or TOEFL score should be at least 7.0
- However, if you have completed any undergraduate or master's degree in New Zealand, you do not need to provide IELTS qualifications.
University of Auckland:
MBChB is a six-year medical course offered by the University of Auckland, New Zealand. After completing the one-year foundation course, the course is divided into two categories.
- Pre-clinical theoretical course for 2 years.
- Three clinical years and clinical attachment.
The university covers most clinical areas such as general medicine, emergency medicine, general surgery, psychiatry, general practice and more.
Students also have the opportunity to take a four-week elective course in any particular subject offered in the fifth year and an eight-week elective in the sixth year of study.
