MDS

Outlook at MDS Admission :

    • Candidate must hold BDS degree or any equivalent Degree in dentistry.
    • One Year mandatory internship from a recognized Medical College in India.
    • All India 50% Quota Seats except Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana and Andra Pradesh.
    • MDS Diploma courses at all private Dental Colleges.
    • MDS courses at Armed Forces Medical Forces Institutions.

MDS in India Eligibility :

    • A candidate who wants to take admission to Master in Dental Surgery courses, must hold Bachelor’s in Dental Surgery degree (or foreign dental recognized by GOI/DCI) or any Equivalent degree awarded by the University/college and must be registered by the State Dental Council.
    • Candidate seeking admission to MDS courses must have gone through 1 year mandatory internship in a recognized Dental college.
    • Candidate must have obtained either Provincial or Permanent registration by the Government council of India.
    • Candidates who have completed their Final year (means Last Year of BDS) and most likely to complete their Internship by the 31 March of admission year can take up this entrance Examination.
    • A candidate is not eligible for admission until he/she has not completed their one year compulsory Internship and has not obtained their provincial or Permanent registration before the start of the academic session.
    • Interested candidates have to show a certificate approved by the Head of Institution for completing internship by 31st March.

Eligibility for Foreign Nationals in NEET MDS :

Where as in some case of foreign nationals, the following procedure shall be followed:

    • An interested students can get a temporary registration with DCI after paying a prescribed fees for Registration to the Council, for a duration of Post graduate training restricted to the dental college/Institution for which a student being exclusively there for studies.
    • Further, in the next statement it is provided that, students with temporary registration are bound to the condition that he/she is duly registered as a Medical Practitioner in his own country for which he/she has obtained his/her basic qualification in Dental science and degree is approved by the corresponding State Dental Council or authorized body.
    • The dates directed by the candidate in regards with 12 months Compulsory Rotation Resident Internship, that is from stating date till the last date, candidate has to produce their original Compulsory Rotation Resident Internship certificate approved by the head of institution at the time of Counselling.
    • No Condonation of Internship of 12 months shall be accepted, except.
    • Foreign National Candidates found to be ineligible at any stage will be strictly not allowed to appear in MDS examination or Counselling session. In any unlikely situation that any ineligible candidate appear in examination or successfully qualify the NEET MDS, the results of such candidates shall be cancelled or deemed to be cancelled.
    • Applications for appearing in NEET MDS from interested candidates who have completed their Internship after 31 March or having qualification/subjects which is not recognized according as per the Dentist Act shall be rejected.
    • The cut-off Date for completion of internship towards determination of Eligibility for appearing in NEET MDS is 31 March
    • A candidate can only once register or appear for NEET MDS in a year for admission to the academic session.
    • Candidates submitting more than one application for appearance will not be allowed in NEET MDS.
    • It is a regulation in some of universities/Institution that a candidate who has already pursuing undergraduate course in their institution or at another institution are not eligible to take admission unless the completion of UG course.
    • Candidates who have already pursuing UG course either under All India Quota or State Quota and applying for NEET MDS have to satisfy the eligibility criteria of that University in this regard.
    • NBE/MCC/MOHFW shall not be responsible at any cost if a candidate denied admission such candidates may opt for the subjects and college at their own responsibilities.
